OPTIONS

RELAYS (CR1 - CR13)

Output relays can be used for control or alarm functions. The basic control board can hold up to five SPDT relays with a 10 AMP contract rating,. Additionally, there are driver circuits for an expansion board of four or eight additional relays. The relays have independent ON and OFF settings.

TIME DELAY

Each control relay contains a programmable time delay to insure staggered starts of pumps, etc., after a power outage. The time delay can also be used to insure that an alarm condition persists for a set time period before sounding an alarm.

RS 232 / 485

THE CONVERTIBLE™ can provide any of the popular serial digital output signals. RS 232 can be used for short distances, and a convertor to RS 422 can be added for distances up to several thousand feet. RS 485 is designed for use in distributed processing networks (multi-tank system).

DATALOGGER (DL) - MASTER LOG™SOFTWARE

The Inventron Master-Log datalogging system utilizes the capacity of the 9140 controller to store up to 64k bytes in non-volatile memory. Special software allows the user to:

    store INDIVIDUAL data points
    accumulate and store INTERVAL STATISTICS
    enter data into SPREADSHEETS/DATABASES

The relays may also be dedicated to the following functions:

anunciator relay -- The is relay activates when any control relay which has been linked to it goes into an alarmcondition. This can be used to drive an audible or visual signaling device which must be reset through the silence key on the keypad. Even after the alarm relay has returned to normal status, the anunciator relay will remain energized until silenced.

echo lost relay -- A relay can be programmed to activate in case the sensor signal is lost (such as the echo being lost from an ultrasonic transducer or if the analog or frequency signal from another type of sensor is missing).

totalizer relay (flowmeter mode) -- This relay can be used to drive a remote totalizer (dry contacts provided).

sampler relay (flowmeter mode) --This relay can be used for activating a remote sampler device, or other device requiring a flow-proportional signal such as a chlorinator.

ACCESSABILITY

The stored data may be retrieved in various ways:

directly to serial PRINTER (RC 232 port)

directly to laptop or notebook COMPUTER

viewing on LCD DISPLAY (through keypad).

INDIVIDUAL DATA POINTS

If time/level/flow data were being saved every ten minutes,
there would be enough memory to store data for over 14
months! Even if data were logged once a minute there
would be sufficient memory for 44 days of data. Even storing
interval statistics at the same time would normally cut down
the time very little (as described below).

INTERVAL STATISTICS

Interval statistics may be calculated and saved. For each
interval it is possible to save the following:

pump alternation
- One of the more common uses of the unit is to sequence multiple pumps. By merely programming in the number of pumps, the controller will automatically rotate the pump control settings from the simplest duplex alternator up to a rotating sequencer for eight pumps. Additionally, up to four distinct alternation loops can be handle. For example, two pumps could alternate, and then if the level were still rising, the control could switch to larger capacity pumps, and alternate these. Run time information can be logged for each pump in an alternating system. The alternation routines may be activated through the keypad.

ANALOG OUTPUT (MA)

Optically isolated analog outputs are available. The two milliamp signals are independently scalable.

0 - 10 VDC and 4 - 20 MADC 2 (available).

Minimum Flow Rate (and time of occurence)
Maximum Flow Rate (and time of occurence)
Average Flow for the interval
Total Flow for the interval
Total Flow to Date
Level (actual level at end of interval)
Flow (actual flow at end of interval)

The minimum time interval for interval statistics is one hour. The maximum time interval allowed is 30 days.

FIELD PROGRAMMING THROUGH RS 232

The Invetron Master Log(tm) software package can be used to program the controller for any site through the RS 232 interface. This allows a multi-site user to immediately reprogram a unit for any site. This can also be done through a modem (Hayes compatible) - MOD option. An application note contains more information on the Master-Log option. In addition to the program itself, data for over 500 sites can be stored on a single 3.5 floppy disk.
