THE CONVERTIBLE™

            LEVEL AND FLOW CONTROL

TANK GAUGING

HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL TANKS - Level as well as
volume ca be displayed for any type of storage tank. Stored
conversion data can be called up for all horizontal tanks.
Additionally, conversion table can be field programmed for
odd shaped tanks and silos. Due to unique signal processing
circuitry, most agitators can be ignored.

MULTIPLE TANKS

RACK MOUNT CARD CAGE (RM)

A rack mount system with a plug-in card for each level sensor provides the ultimate solution for tank farms where continuous monitoring of each vessel is required. Each plug-in card contains the complete complement of micro-processor-based hardware. Card slots can be assigned for either tank gauging or flow metering with ultrasonic or other types of sensors.
Considerable space saving is achieved, maximum flexibility is retained, and a cost effective control system is the result. Racks are available with either five (5) or ten (10) card slots. Multiple racks may be mounted in one control unit.

CENTRAL COMPUTER OPTION (CCO)

FLOW MEASUREMENT

Open channel flow- Flumes-Weirs - To measure flow rates in open channels, a calibrated device (commonly called the primary device) must be installed in the channel to insure that the level of liquid will be related to the rate of flow.

Flumes and weirs are the most common primary devices, and THE CONVERTIBLE™ contains conversion tables for all of these. The software allows the choice of any type of primary device. Additionally, the user can enter a level-to-flow
conversion table for any specialized condition.

MASTER-FLOW™ -- LIFT STATION SOFTWARE

The Master-Flow™ software for the Inventron 9140 control unit provides long-needed solutions to both pump control in a wet well, as well as flow measurement through the wet well, Each time the station fills, The Convertible calculates a new infiltration rate. This infiltration rate is multiplied by the pumping time to calculate the infiltration occuring during pump down. At each pump-down cycle, the volume between the start and stop points is added to this infiltration volume. Pump alternation and pump run time data are standard features.

Central Computer Option-- a communications card added to
the keypad utilizes an RS-485 bus to address any card. This
eliminates the necessity of individually connection a keypad
assembly. Viewing tank contents is rapid - all tank data is
instantaneous, since all tanks are continuously on line. The
CCO contains protocol so that the entire system can be linked
to another (personal) computer through the 485 bus.

The 9140 controller is designed to operate with virtually any control system used in wet wells. The 9140 can take the following inputs.

ultrasonic transducers
pressure transducers
(or other 4-20 mA devices)

ULTRASONIC/PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS

When used with Inventron utlrasonic transducers or any pressure transducer providing a 4-20 valuable data regarding flow through the wet wall.

PLUG-IN CARDS (9140 -PI)

When ordering a rack mount system, it is necessary to specify
the individual plug-in card. Several output signals are
available from each station:

4-20 MA,
RS-232 OR RS-485 Communications Interface,
Relays - up to three per card

The control unit software can provide the following

  • on/off controls for up to twelve pumps
  • alternation routine for all pumps
  • on/off delay times can be programmed individual for each pump
  • run-time information for each pump calculate flow through wet-well
  • totalize flow through wet-well
  • alarms for abnormal conditions
